LaSalle Network has partnered with a prominent manufacturing company, located in the northern suburbs of Illinois. We are seeking an adept Purchasing Manager for their headquarters, which will require the right individual to demonstrate expertise in overseeing procurement functions, including supplier sourcing, negotiations, and cultivating strategic vendor relationships.
Purchasing Manager Responsibilities:
- Lead and guide a team of procurement professionals in executing indirect procurement initiatives efficiently and proficiently
- Engage closely with key stakeholders across the organization to comprehend their needs and synchronize procurement strategies with overarching business objectives
- Identify, assess, and negotiate with potential suppliers, while actively managing supplier relationships to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and achieve significant cost savings
- Stay abreast of market trends and industry best practices, integrating this knowledge into procurement activities to ensure competitiveness and innovation
- Analyze procurement data and KPIs to gauge performance, report on cost savings, and other pertinent metrics
- Uphold compliance with relevant regulations and company policies throughout all procurement endeavors
- Foster and nurture a robust network of contacts, actively participating in benchmarking exercises
- Drive initiatives for continuous improvement within the procurement department, ensuring operational excellence
Purchasing Manager Requirements:
- Possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in business, purchasing, supply chain management, or a related business field
- Proficiency in SAP would be nice to have
