Our client is a leading chemical company dedicated to delivering high-quality products and innovative solutions to consumers. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Material Planner to join the team and play a crucial role in optimizing the supply chain processes. 

As a Material Planner for this multi-billion-dollar company, you will be responsible for effectively managing the procurement and inventory of raw materials used in their chemical manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have expertise in SAP and possess strong analytical skills to ensure timely and cost-effective material availability. 

 

Material Planner Responsibilities:  

  • Develop and execute comprehensive material planning strategies to meet production demands and maintain optimal inventory levels 

  • Leverage SAP software to manage and monitor material requirements, inventory levels and order processing efficiently 

  • Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate contracts, monitor performance and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality raw materials 

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze demand forecasts, sales trends and market conditions to anticipate material requirements 

  • Implement strategies to minimize excess inventory, reduce carrying costs and prevent stockouts 

  • Generate and manage purchase orders, track deliveries and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner 

  • Utilize analytical tools to evaluate material usage patterns, identify opportunities for cost savings and make data-driven recommendations 

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards and company policies in all material planning activities 

  • Proactively identify areas for process improvement within the material planning function and implement best practices 

 

Material Planner Requirements:   

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred  

  • 1-3+ years within supply chain planning and procurement 

  • SAP or Oracle are required 

  • Attention to details paired with strong communication skills
