As AI-powered search continues to reshape how consumers discover brands, they’re investing in building a best-in-class GEO/AEO strategy to strengthen their online visibility.
We’re looking for an AI Search Strategist to build and lead the company’s Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) strategy. Working closely with Digital Marketing, Brand, eCommerce, and Web teams, you’ll improve AI search visibility, develop best practices, and establish a scalable strategy from the ground up.
Responsibilities:

Build and execute the company’s GEO/AEO strategy.

Analyze AI search visibility and identify optimization opportunities.

Conduct competitive benchmarking, content gap analyses, and technical website assessments.

Partner with Digital Marketing, Brand, eCommerce, and Web teams to implement AI search best practices.

Recommend improvements around technical SEO, structured content, and schema markup.

Track performance and measure the impact of AI search initiatives.
Requirements:

4–6+ months of direct GEO/AEO experience or equivalent hands-on experience.

Background in SEO, digital marketing, content strategy, or website optimization.

Self-starter who enjoys building strategy in a fast-moving, evolving space.

Experience optimizing content for AI-powered search platforms.

Strong knowledge of technical SEO, structured data, content strategy, and analytics.

Ability to influence cross-functional teams and build a new capability from the ground up.

Content creation experience is a plus.
This is a W2 contract with an hourly pay rate of $50-$60/hr. This role offers health, dental and vision benefits within 30 days. Requirement of 1-day in-office in the western suburbs of Illinois.
