Job Description

LaSalle Network is partnered with a growing, global company is looking for a strategic Sr. Director of Human Resources to join its US headquarters in the western suburbs of Chicago. This role will oversee 5 plants within the US with the help of 6 direct management reports. This position will be responsible for shared business goals, strategies, and initiatives at the corporate level.

Sr. Director of Human Resources Responsibilities:

  • Utilize business insights to drive change in people management
  • Build confidential and objective relationships with all senior leadership, providing support and challenges when needed
  • Understand competitors in the space and develop and apply people solutions to become a market differentiator
  • Build a performance based culture alongside other business leaders within the company, including: core competencies, success framework, 360 feedback, and employee survey feedback
  • Design and deliver workshops for senior leaders and teams focused on personal development, new leader integration, and team expectations
  • Conduct quarterly talent meetings with senior leadership to evaluate, plan, and forecast
  • Plan and execute succession for critical roles in the business
  • Attract and retain external talent
  • Assess, develop, and design required structure for people vs. business requirements – fill in gaps
  • Lead the design and execution of people initiatives: engagement, diversity, equity & inclusion (DEI) programs, and well-being
  • Ensure accurate compliance with US & Canadian laws for labor relations
  • Advise and coach client groups with union and contract negotiations
  • Partner with the President of North America and VP of North America HR in overall advancement of the business

 Sr. Director of Human Resources Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in an HR role with a manufacturing facility (labor relations, collective bargaining/union negotiations)
  • Experience with Equal Opportunity & US Affirmative action governance and reporting
  • Proven track record of leading transformation on a large-scale change
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex environment
  • Ability to identify organizational needs and design appropriate solutions
  • Ability to travel, up to 15%
