Our client in Franklin Furnace, Ohio is at the forefront of the global steel manufacturing and recycling industry, providing innovative solutions while maintaining a commitment to environmental stewardship. They are now looking for a Plant Environmental Manager to be the linchpin of their environmental compliance efforts. Your responsibilities will include investigating environmental complaints, liaising with the EPA, and ensuring corrective actions are promptly implemented. You'll collaborate closely with department managers, challenging processes when necessary to uphold their commitment to environmental responsibility.

Plant Environmental Manager Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough investigations into environmental complaints, ensuring swift and effective resolution
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including safety, maintenance, operations, and engineering to address environmental concerns
  • Prepare reports and documentation for EPA compliance, detailing corrective actions and preventative measures
  • Actively engage with union representatives, leveraging their expertise to enhance environmental management practices
  • Monitor and manage environmental risks associated with manufacturing processes, advocating for continuous improvement initiatives
  • Serve as a key point of contact for EPA inquiries and inspections, demonstrating our proactive approach to environmental compliance

Plant Environmental Manager Requirements:
  • Ability to be on site 5 days/week in Franklin Furnace, OH
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in an environmental management role within the manufacturing industry (or similar)
  • Strong understanding of EPA regulations and compliance standards
  • Experience with union environments preferred
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications
