Patient Account Specialist

LaSalle Network is partnering with a top healthcare provider to hire an experienced Patient Account Specialist. If you have a strong background in medical collections, excellent communication skills and a passion for healthcare, we want to hear from you. This role is onsite in Houston, Texas.  

Patient Account Specialist Responsibilities: 

• Conduct comprehensive reviews of patient accounts to identify and resolve billing discrepancies 

• Manage the medical collection process, including contacting patients for outstanding payments and negotiating payment arrangements 

• Work collaboratively with insurance companies to resolve claim denials, appeals and other reimbursement issues 

• Ensure accurate and timely submission of claims and follow-up on outstanding claims to optimize reimbursement 

• Collaborate with other departments, including coding and billing teams, to resolve complex billing issues and improve overall revenue cycle efficiency 

• Stay current on healthcare regulations, coding changes and insurance policies to ensure compliance and accurate billing practices 

Patient Account Specialist Requirements: 

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical collections within a healthcare setting 

• Strong knowledge of healthcare billing, coding and reimbursement processes 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, insurance representatives and internal teams 

• Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously 

• Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) and billing systems 

• Knowledge of relevant healthcare regulations and compliance standards
