Outpatient Coder Responsibilities:
- Abstract codes from medical documentation
- Identify and report correct codes from medical records
- Assign correct diagnosis and procedure codes
- Ensure all charges are accurately billed into the system
Outpatient Coder Requirements:
- GED or high school diploma required; college degree preferred
- Active RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC, or CCSP Certification required
- 1+ year of experience in medical coding
