Patient Account Representative

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our client’s team as a Patient Account Representative. In this role, you will be responsible for managing patient accounts, resolving billing inquiries and ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and a passion for helping others.

Patient Account Representative Responsibilities:

• Manage patient accounts, including billing, collections and payment posting
• Review and verify insurance information to ensure accurate billing
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing statements, insurance coverage and payment options
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and insurance denials
• Collaborate with internal departments, such as billing, coding and finance, to resolve account issues
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with regulatory requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Previous experience in healthcare billing, medical office administration or related field preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance billing processes and healthcare regulations
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients and colleagues
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively and work independently with minimal supervision
