Manufacturing Test Technician | Service Technician

They have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Test Technician / Service Technician to join their growing team in South Elgin, IL.

This role is ideal for a hands-on technician with a strong field service background who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment. The Manufacturing Test Technician / Service Technician is responsible for final assembly, testing and debugging, field installation, and service of custom automation machinery. You'll also participate in customer product testing, demonstrations, technician education, and final quality control inspections prior to shipment. Travel up to 30% domestically and internationally is required. Manufacturing Test Technician / Service Technician Responsibilities

• Perform machinery installations, service, and warranty claims through direct customer and representative contact

• Provide technical support to engineering and manufacturing for machinery upgrades and configurations, including written documentation of field corrections and problems

• Perform testing of customer-supplied product samples to determine equipment compatibility and configuration

• Perform final quality and performance testing of machinery

• Support customer contact and assistance during machinery acceptance visits

• Perform a series of electrical and mechanical checks, analyze part control, machine functions, and operations per specifications

• Maintain flexibility to work across South Elgin, IL and Belvidere, IL locations as needed

What's Needed?

• 3+ years as a service technician with experience as a lead machine builder for automated machinery

• Associate's degree or certificate from a college or technical school, or equivalent experience

• Understanding of AC/DC fundamentals with ability to read ladder logic and perform basic PLC editing

• Ability to read detailed 3D drawings, electrical schematics, and pneumatic schematics

• Basic use of machine shop equipment including drill press, grinder, mill, and lathe

• Experience with basic hand tools and measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, scales, and gauges

• PLC experience a plus

Key Details

• Compensation: $32 – $40 per hour

• Schedule: Monday – Thursday 7 AM – 4 PM, Friday 7 AM – 12 PM (averaging ~45 hours per week)

• Location: South Elgin, IL (flexibility to work in Belvidere, IL)

• Work Model: Onsite

• Travel: Up to 30% domestically and internationally
