Are you a hands-on HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy operations environment? We are seeking an HR Generalist to serve as the dedicated People Team representative within an active fulfillment center and hub location.

Reporting to the Director of HR, you will drive full-lifecycle HR operations, from associate onboarding and culture-building to employee relations, compliance, and leadership coaching. You will work side-by-side with site General Managers, Operations Directors, and site leadership to foster a safe, inclusive, and high-performing workplace.

Position Details:

  • Employment Type: Contract-to-permanent 

  • Location: Aurora, IL 

  • Onsite Schedule: 100% onsite 

  • Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8AM-5PM CST 

  • Pay Rate: $38.00 – $41.00/hr

Responsibilities:

  • Employee Relations & Advocacy: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee concerns. Conduct thorough workplace investigations and manage progressive discipline/PIP processes in partnership with HR Leadership and Legal.

  • Onsite HR Operations & Compliance: Maintain up-to-date HR records, execute periodic compliance audits, manage attendance tracking, and oversee smooth offboarding and exit procedures.

  • Interviewing & Onboarding: Interview and onboard hourly warehouse team members. Facilitate engaging new-hire training, conduct check-ins, and manage relationships with onsite 3rd-party staffing agency representatives.

  • Leadership Coaching: Partner closely with site General Managers and operations leads to train, counsel, and coach managers on employee management and labor laws.

  • Culture & Retention: Drive employee engagement programs, support Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), participate in the site Culture Committee, and host regular open-door office hours.

  • Metrics & Operational Alignment: Monitor, analyze, and present key people metrics at monthly site town halls and startup meetings. Partner with operations on Workers’ Compensation and Return-to-Work programs.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Ideally 2-4 years of progressive Human Resources experience, specifically within a fulfillment center, warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing facility.

  • Language Skills: Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred to effectively support our site workforce.

  • Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in HR or a related field. SHRM-CP or PHR certification is highly preferred.

  • Labor Law Expertise: Solid understanding of federal, state, and local labor laws and compliance statutes.

  • Data Literacy & Tech Skills: Proficient with MS Excel, HRIS tools, and data analytics to extract actionable insights and inform HR strategy.

  • Communication & Autonomy: Exceptional interpersonal, written, and public speaking skills with the confidence to present to large groups and work independently with minimal direction.
