LaSalle is hiring on behalf of a well-established nonprofit trade association and technical institute that represents the precast and prestressed concrete industry, seeking a Technical Administrator to provide administrative and program support to its Technical Services department. This role will be responsible for supporting technical committees, councils, standards programs, conferences, and other key initiatives while serving as a primary point of contact for members and volunteers.

The Technical Administrator position combines strong administrative skills with exceptional organization and communication. The successful candidate will work closely with technical leaders, committee members, and internal stakeholders to coordinate meetings, manage documentation and ballots, maintain committee resources, and support the organization’s technical programs and events.


Technical Administrator Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to technical councils and committees, including meeting scheduling, document review, ballot processes, and committee communications.

  • Coordinate and maintain committee membership, rosters, records, webpages, and technical documentation.

  • Initiate, manage, and compile council and committee ballots while ensuring accurate and timely documentation.

  • Coordinate technical workshops, conferences, and committee meetings, including registration, materials, conference software, abstracts, and peer review assignments.

  • Support Research and Development programs, including the Research and Development Council, Research Innovation Committee, and PCI Fellowship process.

  • Support Codes and Standards programs by maintaining records, coordinating document reviews and ballots, and assisting with meeting schedules.

  • Monitor technical and standards-related email accounts and coordinate responses to questions from members and non-members.

  • Assist with copy editing, proofreading, member communications, and other technical publications and resources.

  • Support major Institute events, including the PCI Convention, Committee Days, and Technical Conference.

  • Provide general administrative and project support to the Technical Services team as needed.


Technical Administrator Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered

  • 2+ years of administrative, program coordination, or related experience

  • Experience supporting committees, councils, boards, associations, or higher education preferred

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including spreadsheets and document formatting

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong grammar, spelling, proofreading, and note-taking skills

  • Exceptional organizational and document management skills with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while working independently

  • Professional, reliable, proactive, and comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders

  • Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with members and volunteers

  • Familiarity with workflow or productivity tools used to manage tasks and documentation preferred

  • Minimal travel up to 4 times per year required


Key Details:

  • Salary: $70,000-$80,000 base salary, with flexibility for the right candidate

  • Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid/Remote – must be willing to come into the office occasionally for meetings)

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, standard business hours

  • Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance offered
