LaSalle Network is partnering with a well-established and growing academic organization located just north of Downtown Chicago that is seeking an experienced HR Manager / HR Business Partner to join their team on a long term contract basis.
This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible role where you'll partner directly with leaders, support employees across the organization, and help drive key HR initiatives. If you enjoy balancing strategic partnership with hands-on execution, this could be an excellent fit.
What You'll Do

Serve as a trusted HR partner to managers and employees across multiple business functions

Partner with leadership on organizational changes, workforce planning, and HR best practices during a time of transformation

Provide guidance on employee relations matters, performance management, and workplace investigations

Support talent management initiatives including onboarding, employee engagement, and retention efforts

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
-
Assist with policy development, process improvements, and HR projects
-
Analyze HR trends and metrics to support business decisions
-
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive a positive employee experience
What We're Looking For
-
5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
-
Strong employee relations and performance management background
-
Must have experience working through restructuring, reorganizations and change management
-
Experience supporting leaders with an hourly and salaried population
-
Working knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance requirements

Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills
-
Ability to navigate both strategic conversations and day-to-day HR responsibilities
-
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred
