Position Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Food Safety & Quality Supervisor to provide leadership for food safety, sanitation, quality systems, and regulatory compliance within a high-volume food manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with food safety standards while driving continuous improvement across quality, sanitation, microbiology, and audit readiness programs.The Senior Food Safety & Quality Supervisor will lead cross-functional initiatives related to HACCP, sanitation, environmental monitoring, food defense, and regulatory compliance while supervising quality personnel and partnering with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Regulatory teams to ensure safe, high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities
Food Safety & Quality Leadership
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of Food Safety and Quality programs throughout the manufacturing facility.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and internal food safety and quality standards.
- Serve as a technical resource for food safety, sanitation, microbiology, and quality system initiatives.
- Promote a strong culture of food safety, quality, and continuous improvement across the plant.
HACCP, Sanitation & Food Safety Programs
- Lead and maintain HACCP and Preventive Controls programs.
- Support environmental monitoring, microbiology testing, and sanitation verification activities.
- Develop, implement, and validate sanitation procedures, SSOPs, GMPs, allergen control programs, and hygienic design initiatives.
- Conduct food safety risk assessments and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Support food defense and food fraud prevention programs.
Regulatory Compliance & Audits
- Lead internal and external audit preparation and execution.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with GFSI-recognized standards and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate responses to audit findings and lead corrective action initiatives.
- Maintain documentation required to support food safety certifications and regulatory inspections.
Quality Systems & Continuous Improvement
- Investigate quality and food safety incidents using structured root cause analysis.
- Analyze quality trends and identify opportunities to improve processes, sanitation effectiveness, and product quality.
- Utilize data to drive continuous improvement initiatives and support operational excellence.
- Assist with implementation of new products, process improvements, and facility modifications from a food safety perspective.
Leadership & Team Development
- Supervise and develop Food Safety and Quality personnel.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to quality team members.
- Foster collaboration across Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Corporate Quality teams.
- Promote accountability and professional development within the department.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- 5+ years of leadership experience within food manufacturing, food processing, beverage, dairy, ingredients, or consumer packaged goods.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in microbiology laboratories or environmental monitoring programs.
- Knowledge of thermal processing, heat mapping, or validation studies.
- Experience with X-ray inspection systems or other food safety detection technologies.
- Experience supporting Halal, Kosher, or other specialty certification programs.
- PCQI certification or additional food safety certifications.
- Experience with GFSI-recognized standards such as SQF, BRCGS, or FSSC 22000.

Work Environment
This position operates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and requires regular interaction with production, sanitation, engineering, maintenance, warehouse, and corporate quality teams.
