Senior Accountant

They are seeking a talented Senior Accountant who will have an impact on the financials and focus on lease accounting functions for their various assets and medical equipment across their hospitals. 

This Senior Accountant – Lease Accounting will play a crucial role in managing lease accounting activities, ensuring compliance with ASC 842 leasing standards and contributing to the financial success of their healthcare system. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a dedicated team in a challenging and rewarding environment. The role is budgeted for $90,000-100,000 base salary and is bonus eligible. 

Senior Accountant – Lease Accounting Responsibilities: 

• Execute traditional month end close functions; ensure the accurate and timely financial reporting 

• Prepare and deliver monthly board presentations on capital expenditures, highlighting key financial metrics and insights 

• Manage asset transactions, including acquisitions and disposals and compile documentation to support the fair value of acquisitions 

• Research and resolve unresolved leased asset transactions, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal and procurement, to ensure effective contract management and adherence to lease terms 

• Support audit processes related to lease accounting and provide necessary documentation to auditors 

• Evaluate ASC 842 leasing implementations, staying abreast of changes in lease accounting standards and ensuring compliance 

• Perform variance analysis and analyze data trends 

Senior Accountant – Lease Accounting Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field 

• 4+ years of accrual based accounting handling core month end close functions 

• Prior experience working with contracts, vendors or leases is required 

• Understanding of lease accounting/ASC 842 guidelines strongly preferred 

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
