LaSalle network has partnered with a leader in Illinois healthcare in search of an Outpatient Coding Analyst. Outpatient Coding Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and abstract key clinical data from outpatient medical records to identify appropriate CPT and HCPCS codes for procedures and services rendered
  • Apply a deep understanding of outpatient coding guidelines and regulations (e.g., CPT Coding Manual, HCPCS Level II) to ensure coding accuracy and compliance
  • Conduct thorough audits of assigned codes to maintain a high level of coding quality
  • Research and resolve coding discrepancies by collaborating with physicians and other healthcare providers
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest coding updates and industry trends for outpatient services
  • May participate in training and development activities for junior coding staff, depending on experience

Outpatient Coding Analyst Requirements:
  • Active coding certification required – CCS, CPC, RHIA or RHIT
  • Must be an Illinois resident
  • 3+ years of experience in outpatient coding
  • Strong understanding of outpatient coding systems (CPT, HCPCS) and medical terminology
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare providers
  • Proficient in computer skills and hospital coding software
