As the Interim Accounts Payable Manager, you will play a critical role in their finance department, responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounts payable functions. This role requires a detail-oriented and organized professional who can streamline processes, ensure accuracy and promote efficiency in the client’s accounts payable operations.
Interim Accounts Payable Manager Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead the accounts payable team, providing guidance, training and support to ensure the department's success
- Oversee the accurate and timely processing of invoices, expense reports and payments
- Review and approve invoices for payment, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, resolving any payment discrepancies or issues
- Implement best practices to streamline accounts payable processes, improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Conduct regular audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of accounts payable records
- Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports, providing insights and recommendations to senior management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement and accounting, to optimize vendor relationships and manage vendor performance
- Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes related to accounts payable and make necessary adjustments to processes
Interim Accounts Payable Manager Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field is a plus
- 5+ years of experience in accounts payable, with 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
