This is a hands-on contract opportunity for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and working through the details of transactional accounting. The ideal candidate is highly independent, thrives in fast-paced M&A environments, and can quickly step in to support accounting operations with minimal oversight.
What You’ll Do
- Support day-to-day accounting operations during an active acquisition and business integration.
- Perform detailed general ledger analysis, account reconciliations, and transaction-level research.
- Assist with full-cycle accounts payable activities, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and timely.
- Review and resolve accounting discrepancies while maintaining the integrity of financial records.
- Prepare journal entries and support month-end close activities.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances.
- Assist with accounting clean-up efforts and integration of newly acquired entities.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to improve accounting processes and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Support the implementation and transition from QuickBooks to NetSuite.
- Take ownership of assigned projects while delivering high-quality work with minimal supervision.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience with strong general ledger and transactional accounting expertise.
- Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, business integrations, or accounting clean-up projects is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Experience working in QuickBooks; NetSuite implementation or conversion experience is a strong plus.
- Highly detail-oriented with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated professional who can work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate remotely across cross-functional teams.
