LaSalle Network has partnered with an exciting and growing startup advertising agency looking to bring on a Freelance Media Planner in a contract capacity! Our client, founded by leaders within the Chicago advertising industry, is a comprehensive performance marketing firm that offers a range of services aimed at maximizing the effectiveness of marketing campaigns. They use advanced analytics, which are enhanced by artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies, to identify and leverage the most effective strategies, channels and tactics for achieving superior results.


In this Freelance Media Planner role, you will be responsible for helping with media planning for 3 different campaigns. The ideal candidate will be able to work up to 20-25 hours per week and have around 3+ years of media planning experience.

Freelance Media Planner Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research and analysis to understand client objectives, target audiences and market dynamics
  • Develop strategic media plans that leverage a mix of traditional and digital media channels to reach target audiences efficiently and effectively
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including account managers, creative teams and digital specialists, to integrate media plans with overall marketing strategies
  • Negotiate with media vendors to secure favorable rates, placements and added value opportunities
  • Monitor and optimize media campaigns to ensure they meet performance objectives and deliver measurable results
  • Analyze campaign performance data and provide insights and recommendations for future optimizations and improvements
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging media technologies and best practices in media planning and buying

Freelance Media Planner Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in media planning, preferably in an advertising agency or media buying firm
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively
  • Proficiency in media planning tools and software, such as Nielsen, comScore, Kantar and media planning platforms
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive and collaborative mindset, with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement
