- Plan and dispatch 4 to 5 routes each day
- Act as the main point of contact between customers, drivers, and the operations team
- Handle time-sensitive and last-minute delivery requests by phone and email
- Work closely with an onsite dispatcher and operations manager
- Learn to support invoicing over time
What’s needed?
- Some dispatch, logistics, or transportation experience
- Strong aptitude, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn
- A solid understanding of logistics
- Clear, confident communication on the phone
- Ability to stay calm when priorities shift
- Comfort in a hands-on, manual environment with no dispatch software. Candidates from LTL backgrounds often find this a big adjustment, so we’re looking for people excited by that style of work
- Top skills: phone and email communication, route planning, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Key Details
- Compensation: $30–$34/hour
- Location: West Chicago, IL
- Work Model: Onsite
- Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (or 4:30 PM), with some flexibility
- Interview Process: A 30-minute conversation, then an onsite meet and greet with the team
