A leading global logistics provider is hiring an Operations Coordinator – Air Export to join its Wood Dale, IL team. This organization delivers end-to-end supply chain solutions across industries including aerospace, healthcare, automotive, and more. They are seeking detail-oriented professionals to support daily operational workflows, data accuracy, and shipment coordination in a fast-paced environment.
What’s the job?
- Enter and process Air Export shipment information accurately within company systems
- Generate required export documentation and ensure appropriate rates, charges, and export filing requirements are applied
- Coordinate shipment pickups from customers and vendors to the Wood Dale facility
- Track and trace shipments with carriers from origin through final destination
- Prepare, assemble, and distribute required Air Export documentation
- Support freight inspections and ensure shipments meet applicable IATA flight standards
- Create customer invoices and help troubleshoot billing discrepancies or issues
- Accurately update shipment milestones to ensure proper processing by operations and warehouse teams and adherence to KPI requirements
- Follow account-specific SOPs to maintain consistent and accurate service
- Communicate shipment updates, issues, and exceptions internally and with customers
- Manage a high volume of email communication and account activity while meeting required deadlines
- Escalate account, shipment, or documentation issues appropriately
What’s needed?
- 3+ years of Air Export/Freight Forwarding experience required
- Experience with Air Export operations, including shipment processing, documentation, tracking, and carrier coordination
- Strong customer service, data entry, and high-volume email management skills
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of Air Export documentation, shipment tracking, and customer invoicing/billing
- Familiarity with Dangerous Goods (DG), TSA, and IATA regulations
- Strong attention to detail
- Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency
Key Details
- Compensation: $22–$25/hour, depending on experience
- Location: Wood Dale, IL
- Work Model: Onsite
- Schedule: Full-time, with shifts scheduled within an 8:00 AM–5:00 PM window and some flexibility based on business needs
