LaSalle Network is partnering with a leading food manufacturing organization to hire an Inventory Planner to support product life cycle management, inventory planning, and SKU transitions. This role will manage end-of-life activities for discontinued products, analyze inventory and supply chain data, and work cross-functionally to minimize excess inventory, waste, and potential write-offs. The ideal candidate has a strong supply chain background, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to analyze large amounts of data while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What's the job?

  • Manage end-of-life activities for products being discontinued, including timelines, inventory run-outs, and transition plans

  • Track finished goods, raw materials, and packaging inventory throughout the product discontinuation process

  • Monitor project plans and provide regular status updates to management

  • Identify risks, missed milestones, and root causes while developing recommendations to minimize business impact

  • Analyze supply chain data and reports to identify inventory risks, exceptions, and opportunities for waste reduction

  • Build and maintain reporting using multiple data sources

  • Support SKU transitions and maintain accurate product life cycle information

  • Work cross-functionally with supply planning, inventory management, purchasing, and other supply chain teams

  • Identify and resolve issues related to product transitions and inventory management

  • Develop and document processes, policies, and procedures for managing SKU life cycles

  • Present findings, project updates, and recommendations to various audiences

  • Manage multiple projects and priorities while adapting to changing business needs

  • Utilize ERP and business intelligence systems to gather and analyze supply chain information

  • Support initiatives focused on reducing obsolescence, excess inventory, and potential write-offs


What's needed?

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Business, Logistics, or a related quantitative field

  • 2+ years of relevant supply chain experience

  • Background in supply planning, inventory management, purchasing, or a related supply chain function

  • Strong Excel skills, including Power Query, Pivot Tables, XLOOKUPs, data merging, and exception reporting

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to mine and interpret large data sets

  • Experience building reports from multiple data sources

  • Understanding of supply chain business processes and inventory flows

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to present data, concepts, and recommendations to multiple audiences

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus quickly in a fast-paced environment

  • Comfortable working independently with a high level of ambiguity

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • SAP experience preferred

  • Experience with Business Warehouse or Business Intelligence systems preferred
