LaSalle Network is partnering with a well-established construction firm to find an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on federal and public agency construction projects. This role carries responsibility for safety, quality, project schedule, subcontractor coordination, design conflict resolution and site logistics across assigned projects.

This is a strong opportunity for a hands-on construction leader who thrives managing multi-disciplinary teams from mobilization through closeout and commissioning, and who is comfortable working on federal (USACE) project requirements in remote or shifting locations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide field supervision of all construction work across technical disciplines, including civil, force protection, electrical, carpentry, framing, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, and finish work
  • Ensure construction complies with contractual requirements, building codes, and permitting/inspection processes
  • Determine construction means and methods as appropriate
  • Review subcontractor, vendor, and teaming partner submittals for completeness prior to submission to the Architect or Client
  • Develop, update, and maintain project schedules in coordination with the project team
  • Manage assigned projects in the field from mobilization through closeout and handover, including commissioning
  • Manage subcontractors to keep projects on schedule and in compliance with contractual requirements
  • Track project progress including labor hours, material quantities, RFIs, submittals, safety, and quality, evaluating data against start dates to monitor schedule adherence
  • Identify labor requirements for self-performed work and forecast accordingly
  • Maintain close working relationships with client on-site representatives throughout project execution
  • Ensure project staff and subcontractors comply with USACE quality and safety requirements
  • Prepare required documentation, including daily reports, quality reports, safety reports, and RFIs
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical direction to project labor forces and subcontractors
  • Monitor and respond to potential schedule slippage, including staying closely engaged with fabrication and delivery lead times

What's Needed?

  • 5 to 10 years of related experience working on projects for federal and local public agencies
  • Bachelor's degree in a construction-related discipline preferred but not required; comparable experience considered in lieu of degree
  • OSHA 30-hour certification / EM 385 40-hour certification within the last 5 years
  • OSHA HAZWOPER certification
  • NAVFAC ECATTS certification
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • Strong communication skills and good judgment
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work at remote locations
  • Ability to travel and relocate depending on project location

What's In It for Me?

  • Direct mentorship and collaboration with senior leadership
  • Hands-on ownership of projects from mobilization through closeout and commissioning
  • Exposure to a wide range of technical disciplines and project types
