Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is looking for a Production Supervisor to lead and develop employees while driving key performance indicators across Safety, Quality, Production, Service, and Efficiency. Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor will be responsible for scheduling production equipment and employees, monitoring daily performance, and ensuring production goals are achieved safely and efficiently. This is a highly hands-on leadership position, with approximately 75% of the role spent on the production floor.
Production Supervisor Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop employees while driving performance across Safety, Quality, Service, Efficiency, and Employee Development.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure employees follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), company procedures, and quality standards.
  • Schedule production priorities, equipment, workstations, and employees to efficiently meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Manage daily attendance, personnel assignments, lunch and rest breaks, and staffing needs across production lines.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), identify performance trends, and take corrective action to ensure production targets are achieved.
  • Partner with other departments and plant leadership to address challenges and achieve productivity goals.
  • Conduct regular floor audits, monitor productivity metrics, verify adherence to standard work, and correct deficiencies as needed.
  • Inspect products and complete required quality control documentation in accordance with established standards and procedures.
  • Enter production and employee information into computer systems and generate reports for site management as needed.
  • Create an environment that encourages employee engagement, teamwork, participation, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide coaching and constructive feedback while developing employees and fostering a motivated, accountable team.
  • Support and reinforce management expectations and company values throughout the production environment.

Production Supervisor Requirements:
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience with demonstrated strong leadership and management skills. Internal candidates may be considered with 1+ year of lead or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a production environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to be accessible and approachable to employees at all levels.
  • Ability to train employees on technology, processes, procedures, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and concise reports, presentations, and other documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Minimum proficiency in English required to effectively conduct new hire training and communicate safety and quality information.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience in paper converting, chemical/plastics processing, packaging, or other industrial manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and spend approximately 75% of the workday on the production floor.
  • Ability to work weekends and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
  • Ability to work across office, production, and warehouse environments with exposure to heat, loud noise, dirt, dust, odors, and fumes.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a valid driver's license.

Compensation: $35.00-40.00/hour with time and half over-time expected
