National Staffing, Recruiting, and Culture Firm Publishes Report Detailing Two Data Sets Comparing 2020 Graduates’ Employment Expectations Pre, Post-COVID-19 Outbreak  

CHICAGO – LaSalle Network, a national staffing, recruiting and culture firm, surveyed 2020 graduates in February 2020 and again in April 2020 to compare employment expectations pre and post-COVID 19 outbreak.

As 2020 graduates enter a recession-stricken jobs market with more than 26 million people filing unemployment within the last three weeks, expectations must be shifted.

Below is a preview of the survey findings:

When surveyed in February 2020, 75 percept of survey respondents were not open to a temporary role, and when surveyed in April 2020, 89 percent of survey respondents stated they were open to temporary employment.

In terms of targeted industries, marketing/advertising was the top industry listed from February survey respondents, and results from April’s survey showed that 93 percent of respondents are open to broadening their job search beyond their original list of target industries and roles.

72 percent of respondents in February stated their desired compensation was $41-70K, and in April, 92 percent of respondents stated they are willing to adjust their compensation expectations and potentially accept a role that is at a lower starting salary than desired.
