LaSalle Network is seeking an experienced Sr. Backend Engineer for a top PE client in Chicago. This individual will play a key role in designing and deploying ETL pipelines to consume data from 3rd parties and building tools to monitor and troubleshoot data/performance issues. This position will require 3-4 days/week onsite in Downtown Chicago.
Sr. Backend Engineer Responsibilities:

Architect, develop and implement robust ETL and ELT workflows to ingest data from diverse third-party sources

Create monitoring tools for data pipelines, conducting troubleshooting and resolving data quality and performance issues

Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts and stakeholders to comprehend data requirements and translate them into technical specifications

Work alongside software and data engineers to contribute to the development of a high-value software product

Partner with ML Engineers to deploy, monitor and maintain machine learning models in production environments

Lead the integration of ML workflows with CI/CD pipelines, ensuring consistent model versioning, testing and deployment

Play a pivotal role in shaping the future of software engineering by actively contributing ideas for improvement and automation
Sr. Backend Engineer Requirements:

Possess a minimum of 5 years of software development experience with a track record of significant contributions

Demonstrate exceptional coding skills in Python

Additional expertise in RESTFUL API design, particularly with Flask, Django, or FastAPI, is advantageous

Experience with Scala and Spark or PySpark

Proficiency in working with modern cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
-
Strong SQL skills and a working knowledge of various database types
-
Background in ML Ops and experience with DevOps for CI/CD, IaC (Infrastructure as Code)

Familiarity with modern ETL tools like Apache Beam, Kafka, Spark, or similar technologies

Passion for software engineering, combined with a mission-driven, hard-working and collaborative mindset

Bias for execution and delivery, emphasizing the importance of delivering reliable software consistently

Ability to contribute to system design and the formulation of key technical assumptions, promoting solutions that align with existing infrastructure
