LaSalle Network is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a client of ours, a prestigious Hotels and Resorts company based in Westmont, IL. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations specific to the hospitality industry. This position requires a deep understanding of accounting, strong financial acumen and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
- Oversee the financial accounting processes for multiple hotels and resorts
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of revenue, expenses and other financial transactions related to the hospitality sector
- Analyze and control costs associated with hotel operations
- Implement strategies to improve profitability and cost efficiency
- Collaborate with hotel management teams to develop annual budgets
- Monitor budget performance and provide financial insights
- Implement and oversee revenue recognition processes specific to the hotel and resort industry
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Prepare and present financial reports for each hotel and the overall resort portfolio
- Provide analysis and recommendations to improve financial performance
- Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with industry regulations
- Coordinate with external auditors for hotel audits
- Manage cash flow for hotel operations
- Optimize cash management processes
- Collaborate with hotel management, operations and other departments to achieve financial goals
- Provide financial guidance and support to hotel teams
Senior Accountant Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or business-related field
- 3+ years of experience at the Senior Accountant level
- In-depth knowledge of hotel financial processes and industry-specific accounting practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in MS Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
