Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
Schedule: Friday–Monday | 9:00 AM–7:00 PM (On-site)
Location: Chicago Heights, IL
Position Type: Full-time | Direct Hire
Compensation: $100,000 to $115,000, plus medical, dental, vision, 401k benefits available.
Position Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor oversees daily maintenance operations in a food manufacturing environment, ensuring all equipment, utilities, and production systems run safely and efficiently. This hands-on role requires strong technical skills, leadership ability, and a commitment to safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise, train, and support maintenance technicians to ensure productivity and safe work practices.

Manage preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and maintain production uptime.

Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards (GMPs, OSHA, USDA/SQF).

Prioritize and assign work orders and maintain effective communication across shifts.

Support mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, including motors, VFDs, and basic PLC work.

Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve maintenance concerns promptly.

Monitor spare parts inventory and assist in managing maintenance budgets.

Maintain documentation, safety procedures, and maintenance records.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred.

5+ years of mechanical/electrical maintenance experience, ideally in food or manufacturing.

Previous leadership or supervisory experience required.

Ability to read schematics and perform hands-on troubleshooting.

Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
Physical Requirements & Environment

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.

Comfortable working in cold, refrigerated, or production environments.

Ability to work at heights or on ladders/lifts as needed.
Food Safety & Quality Statement
This position is responsible for upholding all food safety, sanitation, and quality standards in compliance with USDA, SQF, GMPs, and internal company policies. Any concerns regarding food safety or product quality must be promptly reported to supervision and/or the Quality Assurance department.
