Logistics Manager Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement transportation strategies to optimize efficiency, minimize costs and meet customer demands
- Plan, organize and supervise transportation activities, including scheduling, routing and dispatching of trucks, railcars and other modes of transportation
- Develop and Track Transportation KPIs. Own carrier KPIs, develop strategies for service improvements and processes for non-performing carriers
- Maintain carrier and driver service, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
- Partner with Inventory team to maximize truck utilization and balance costs
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements governing the transportation of hazardous materials, including DOT, EPA and OSHA regulations
- Monitor transportation performance metrics, analyze data and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality
Logistics Manager Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain or operations preferred
- 5+ years proven experience in a warehouse or logistics supervisory role
- Experience with KPI's and structured reporting
- Excellent organizational, problem solving and strategic thinking skills
