LaSalle Network is thrilled to present an exciting opportunity for an experienced Inventory Planning Manager to join a reputable retail distributor located in the western suburbs of Illinois. We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic individual to oversee inventory planning and optimization to support the organization's growth and success.
Inventory Planning Manager Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement inventory planning strategies to ensure optimal levels of inventory across all product categories and locations
- Utilize demand forecasting models, historical sales data, and market trends to accurately predict inventory needs and minimize stockouts and excess inventory
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including purchasing, sales, and operations to align inventory plans with sales forecasts, promotional activities, and seasonality
- Monitor inventory performance metrics such as stock turnover, fill rates, and inventory accuracy, and implement corrective actions as needed
- Lead inventory optimization initiatives to improve inventory turns, reduce carrying costs, and maximize profitability
- Implement inventory replenishment policies and parameters to maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing holding costs
- Work closely with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve any inventory-related issues
- Continuously review and refine inventory planning processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Inventory Planning Manager Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field
- 5-7+ years of experience in inventory planning, demand forecasting, or supply chain management, preferably within the retail industry
- Proficiency in inventory planning software and ERP systems
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and efficiency in inventory management
