LaSalle Network is partnered with a thriving professional services firm based in downtown Chicago, seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) due to growth. The HRBP serves as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, providing hands-on support across employee relations, talent management, organizational development, and workforce planning.

This role has a strong employee relations focus and requires someone comfortable managing everything from day-to-day performance issues to complex investigations and sensitive executive-level matters. The HRBP will also partner with leaders to strengthen talent practices, improve organizational effectiveness, and support business and workforce decisions.

Success in this role requires exceptional relationship-building skills, sound judgment, business acumen, and a willingness to balance strategic partnership with hands-on HR execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise and coach leaders on performance management, employee concerns, documentation, progressive discipline, PIPs, and terminations.

  • Manage sensitive and complex employee relations matters and workplace investigations.

  • Provide guidance on executive-level employee issues while ensuring consistent and appropriate HR practices.

  • Support succession planning, talent reviews, performance management, and leadership development.

  • Partner with leaders to identify organizational challenges and recommend practical solutions.

  • Bring new ideas and best practices from previous experience to improve talent and organizational effectiveness.

  • Support organizational change and help leaders navigate ambiguity.

  • Partner with leaders and Finance on workforce planning, headcount, expenses, and talent investments.

  • Provide HR insights that support informed organizational and business decisions.

  • Build strong relationships across all levels of the organization and quickly establish credibility as a trusted advisor.

  • Provide direct, day-to-day HR support to leaders and employees.

  • Partner with HR colleagues on programs, initiatives, and employee matters.

  • Maintain a flexible, “all hands on deck” approach and contribute wherever needed.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

  • 5+ years of HR experience, preferably in an HR Business Partner or Employee Relations capacity.

  • Professional services industry experience required.

  • Strong experience with employee relations, performance management, investigations, progressive discipline, and terminations.

  • Experience supporting talent management, succession planning, and leadership development.

  • Strong business and financial acumen with experience supporting workforce planning and organizational decisions.

  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.

  • Strong communication, coaching, influencing, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with sound judgment and discretion.
