We’re looking for someone who understands procurement as both a science and a strategy – someone who gets excited about negotiations, supplier performance, and bringing financial value through every sourcing decision.
Category Manager Responsibilities
- Lead go-to-market sourcing strategy including RFPs, RFQs, and supplier negotiations
- Develop both short- and long-term sourcing goals aligned to financial targets
- Analyze supplier data, market trends, and spend analytics to drive cost savings
- Manage supplier relationships with a focus on continuous improvement
- Build financial models and business cases to influence leadership decisions
- Communicate sourcing strategies clearly to stakeholders and executives
- Create scorecards to evaluate supplier performance and value
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 5+ years of indirect strategic sourcing or procurement experience
- Proven track record of exceeding cost savings goals and improving sourcing outcomes
- Strong stakeholder management skills and comfort presenting to leadership
This is a contract to hire opportunity and will begin on a temporary basis. The hourly pay rate is between $50-$60/hr and the position will offer medical, dental, and vision insurance. The work model is hybrid (3x on site, 2x remote) weekly out of Downers Grove, IL.
