Buyer

LaSalle Network is hiring for a Buyer in a critical operational role responsible for ensuring the availability, accuracy, and control of maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) materials within a manufacturing environment. This position serves as the bridge between Maintenance, Production, and Procurement, ensuring parts are available when needed while maintaining strong inventory discipline, safety standards, and cost control.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who understands manufacturing purchasing, thrives in organized systems, and can confidently work across departments without direct people management responsibility.

Buyer Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day storeroom activities, including accurate receiving, storage, issuing, and tracking of MRO parts and materials

• Maintain strong inventory control practices to ensure high accuracy, availability, and minimal stock-outs

• Execute cycle counts and support inventory audits to meet accuracy targets

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe storeroom aligned with 5S and site safety standards

• Create and manage purchase orders in ERP systems (SAP preferred)

• Communicate directly with vendors regarding pricing, lead times, order status, and discrepancies

• Support procurement strategy by coordinating closely with the MRO Buyer

• Monitor usage trends and recommend reorder points and stocking levels

• Partner with Maintenance and Production to forecast material needs and support planned work

• Support kitting and pre-staging of parts for maintenance activities

• Serve as a reliable point of contact between operations and procurement

• Utilize CMMS and ERP systems to track inventory movement and material usage

• Generate basic reports to monitor KPIs such as inventory accuracy, turns, stock-outs, and emergency purchases

• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and strengthen material availability

Buyer Requirements:

• 3–5 years of purchasing or materials experience in a manufacturing environment

• Hands-on experience creating POs, managing vendors, and supporting MRO procurement preferred

• ERP experience required (SAP strongly preferred; Maximo or M3 acceptable)

• Working knowledge of CMMS systems

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Solid safety mindset and respect for plant procedures

• Basic Excel skills for tracking and reporting
