We’re hiring an experienced Automation Specialist in Dallas, TX to support complex automated manufacturing equipment, troubleshoot controls issues and help drive equipment reliability and process improvement across the facility.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair automated manufacturing equipment
- Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, instrumentation and controls issues
- Read and modify PLC ladder logic
- Read, interpret, create and update wiring diagrams, blueprints and schematics
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Lead process improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects
- Support equipment installations and utility layouts
- Serve as a technical resource and train less-experienced technicians
- Use SAP for preventive maintenance and work order management
- Follow all safety, GMP and company procedures
What We’re Looking For
- Associate degree in automation or a related field with at least three years of automated manufacturing equipment installation and maintenance experience
- High school diploma or equivalent with at least five years of equipment installation and maintenance experience
- Advanced PLC and ladder logic experience
- Strong electrical, mechanical and pneumatic troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of industrial controls and instrumentation
- Ability to read and write electrical and mechanical schematics
- Understanding of NFPA 70 electrical standards
- Experience using multimeters, scopes, hand tools and portable power tools
- Familiarity with root cause analysis, 5S, FMEA, SPC, 8D or similar methodologies
- Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills
Work Environment
This role is based in Dallas, TX and operates in an industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, dust, fumes and chemicals. Candidates must be comfortable wearing PPE, climbing ladders and lifting up to 50 pounds. Overtime, weekends or holiday hours may occasionally be required.
