Responsibilities
- Manage customer accounts within an assigned portfolio by conducting collection outreach via phone calls and emails.
- Identify problem accounts, write-offs, and required adjustments, and drive issues through to resolution using proactive action plans.
- Negotiate payment arrangements and execute strategic action plans to improve cash flow timeliness.
- Partner cross-functionally with internal teams, including Sales, Customer Service, Field Operations, Accounting, Tax, and Treasury, to resolve billing issues, disputes, pricing and contract questions, returns, and other account needs.
- Work with customers and Cash Applications to resolve open credits and refunds, and perform root-cause analysis to improve process efficiency.
- Analyze customer information to assess credit risk and provide recommendations to reduce risk exposure.
- Review and make decisions on new orders placed on credit hold by evaluating customer history and collection trends to determine business risk.
- Support portfolio performance by monitoring metrics such as past-due percentage, average days past due, and days sales outstanding (DSO), and contribute to initiatives that improve credit and collections processes.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of B2B collections experience with strong knowledge of the order-to-cash process.
- Strong customer-focused mindset with professional, client-facing communication skills.
- Highly organized and able to work independently while consistently following up through resolution.
- Adaptable in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to quickly solve complex problems.
- Nice to have: Familiarity with AI-enabled platforms or tools that optimize AR and collections workflows and B2B processes.
