Senior Business Intelligence Developer – Contract
Position Overview
Our client, a large healthcare organization, is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Developer to lead the design, development, and optimization of enterprise BI solutions. This individual will build scalable data models, pipelines, and dashboards; translate business needs into technical solutions; and help establish best practices across the BI environment.
Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize scalable business intelligence solutions.

Build and maintain ETL processes supporting data transformation, staging, cleansing, and integration.

Create complex data models, dimensional schemas, and reporting structures.

Develop dashboards and reports that track key performance indicators and operational performance.

Write and optimize advanced SQL and PL/SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts.

Partner with business stakeholders to gather analytical requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions.

Analyze large and diverse datasets to identify trends, insights, and opportunities.

Support data quality, governance, security, and development standards.

Troubleshoot complex reporting, data pipeline, and performance issues.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior BI developers.

Participate in Agile/Scrum development processes.

Evaluate emerging BI technologies and recommend improvements when appropriate.

Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related field.

Approximately eight years of IT experience, with a strong focus on business intelligence, data modeling, reporting, and analytics.

Advanced SQL and PL/SQL development skills, including query and database performance optimization.

Experience designing and developing ETL processes using SSIS, Talend, or a comparable platform.

Experience with business intelligence platforms such as Power BI, Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC), or similar tools.

Strong knowledge of data warehousing, OLTP and OLAP models, and dimensional modeling.

Experience working with large-scale datasets and multiple data sources.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership.

Experience working within Agile and Scrum environments.
Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in a related field.

Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other BI developers.

Experience leading complex or enterprise-level BI initiatives.
