LaSalle is hiring for an Architect / Architectural Staff Designer to join a collaborative, high-energy studio at one of Illinois' leading Architecture, Engineering, and Interior Design firms — and a Crain's Top 100 Best Places to Work in Chicago. This opportunity is ideal for an architectural professional who thrives in a mission-driven, team-oriented environment and has hands-on experience with Revit and BIM 360 (both are required to be considered for the role).

This Architect role offers strong exposure to the full project lifecycle — from schematic design through construction documents — while working alongside an integrated team that values sustainability, creative problem-solving, and professional growth. If you're detail-oriented, technically sharp, and eager to advance your licensure and career, this could be the perfect next step.

Architect / Architectural Staff Responsibilities
  • Carry out complex architectural assignments requiring development and implementation of new or improved techniques and procedures
  • Participate in the iterative design process by preparing design alternatives and ensuring coordination between aesthetics and technical performance
  • Coordinate, distribute, and review work from consultants, engineers, and internal staff to ensure design alignment and project consistency
  • Prepare architectural drawings, technical details, and project documentation including schematic designs, design development drawings, and construction documents
  • Manage the BIM model in Revit and BIM 360, monitoring model quality and supporting BIM-enabled workflows
  • Assist in field surveys and site observations, translating field conditions into accurate virtual models
  • Utilize Revit, Enscape3D, and other rendering tools to create visualizations, models, and presentation graphics
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, zoning requirements, and industry standards
  • Generate design concepts for color palettes, materials, and FF&E selection, including cut sheets, schedules, CSI specifications, and budgets

What's Needed?
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture required
  • 5+ years of experience working in an architecture firm
  • Strong hands-on experience with Revit and AutoCAD for construction documents
  • Strong BIM skills with experience in BIM 360, including model coordination and troubleshooting
  • Licensure not required, but candidates must be actively pursuing licensure in the state of Illinois
  • Knowledge of building materials, construction methods, and basic detailing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Preferred experience with Enscape3D, SketchUp, or other 3D modeling software
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

What's In It for Me?
  • Hybrid work schedule
  • Exposure to a diverse project portfolio with the opportunity to focus on areas of personal interest
  • Study time and financial support to pursue licensure and certifications
  • Opportunity to contribute to policy changes, employee training, and firm direction through voluntary working groups
  • Supportive, collaborative studio culture where all feel included, comfortable, and heard

Key Details
  • Compensation: 80K-90K
  • Benefits: 401(k) with contributions, comprehensive health, dental, and vision plans, paid holidays, PTO, paid Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and education allowances.
  • Location: Chicago, IL or Champaign, IL
  • Work Model: Hybrid
