LaSalle Network is partnering with a long-standing, multi-site manufacturing organization on Chicago’s south side to hire a Bilingual HR Generalist. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity stepping into a highly visible plant HR role!

This team needs someone who is confident, service-oriented, and able to pivot quickly, someone with a strong HR foundation who can partner closely with leadership while also being hands-on with day-to-day employee support.

If you enjoy fast-paced plant environments, high-touch employee relations, and being the “go-to” HR presence on-site, this could be a great fit.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as an on-site HR partner for a manufacturing plant, supporting a predominantly Spanish-speaking employee population.

  • Translate and support HR communications during employee relations conversations (including sensitive issues/investigations).

  • Support core HR operations, including onboarding coordination, employment eligibility/verification processes, and HR policy consistency.

  • Assist with recruiting and hiring workflow (high-volume and community-based recruiting approaches as needed).

  • Partner with plant leadership and HR leadership through change, process improvements, and compliance-related updates.

  • Support and collaborate with an HR Coordinator on-site, helping elevate HR practices from “coordination” to true generalist support.

  • Work within or alongside an HRIS/ATS environment (experience with Paycor is a plus).


What’s Needed

  • Bilingual Spanish/English (required) with comfort supporting varied dialects/cultural communication styles.

  • 3+ years of HR experience (generalist exposure preferred; manufacturing/plant HR is a big plus).

  • Comfort operating in a union environment (or willingness to learn quickly).

  • Confidence and judgment to handle employee-facing issues with professionalism and discretion.

  • Strong customer service mindset and ability to adapt priorities in a dynamic setting.
