We are seeking a Data Architect to lead the design and evolution of a modern data ecosystem within a growing, technology-driven organization. This role will play a critical part in establishing scalable architecture, improving data integrity and enabling more efficient product development through well-structured data systems.
This is a high-impact individual contributor role with broad visibility across engineering and business teams, ideal for someone who enjoys shaping long-term architecture while solving complex data challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and maintain enterprise data architecture standards and best practices
- Design and optimize data models, storage systems and data flows to support scalability and performance
- Lead development and enhancement of data warehouse solutions
- Identify and reduce inefficiencies across data systems, including duplication and performance bottlenecks
- Partner with engineering and cross-functional teams to align architecture with business needs
- Evaluate current-state systems and recommend improvements to support future growth and stability
- Establish guidelines for data governance, quality and consistency
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in data architecture or related roles
- Experience designing and implementing data warehouse solutions
- Strong understanding of relational databases and data modeling principles
- Experience improving performance and scalability of data systems
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate technical concepts clearly
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with multiple database technologies (any major RDBMS)
- Exposure to distributed systems or broader architecture domains (application, infrastructure, integration)
- Familiarity with modern reporting or visualization tools
- Experience working in high-growth or evolving technical environments
Additional Details:
This role will initially focus on assessing the current environment and identifying opportunities to improve structure, performance and scalability. The position requires a thoughtful, systems-oriented mindset and the ability to balance strategic planning with practical execution.
Key Details:
- Location: Oak Brook, IL (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
- Compensation: $180,000 – $200,000 annually
- Bonus: Eligible to earn a 5% – 10% annual performance-based bonus
- Equity: Not eligible
