Compensation: $90,000 to $120,000
Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and a generous company 401(k) match.
There is the potential for relocation assistance for a qualified candidate.
About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Reliability Engineer to help build and lead a best-in-class reliability program in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone who has successfully stood up or been a part of a reliability-centered maintenance program and enjoys driving measurable improvements in equipment uptime, asset life, and overall plant performance. You’ll partner closely with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams to shift the culture from reactive to proactive, predictive, and data-driven maintenance.
What You’ll Do
-
Assist with standing up and evolving a reliability program from the ground up, including asset criticality, PM optimization, defect elimination, and reliability standards—prior experience building or maturing a program is essential
-
Assess current maintenance practices and create a clear roadmap to improve reliability, uptime, and cost performance
-
Establish and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, inspection routes, lubrication programs, and precision maintenance practices
-
Lead root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and root cause problem elimination (RCPE) efforts to address chronic issues and prevent recurrence
-
Partner with Maintenance and Planning teams to improve work management, job plans, and spare parts strategies using CMMS (e.g., SAP PM or similar)
-
Leverage data and KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, OEE, downtime trends) to drive decision-making and continuous improvement
-
Support capital projects by ensuring reliability, maintainability, and lifecycle cost considerations are built into new equipment and systems
-
Provide technical support for critical assets such as rotating equipment, conveying systems, hydraulics, and bulk material handling systems
-
Expand condition-based maintenance programs using technologies such as vibration, thermography, ultrasound, and oil analysis
-
Coach and mentor maintenance and operations teams on reliability best practices, precision maintenance, and proactive problem-solving
-
Champion a strong safety culture and ensure all reliability activities align with site safety standards
What You Bring
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent hands-on industry experience
-
5+ years of experience in reliability, maintenance, or asset management within heavy manufacturing or industrial operations
-
Proven track record of building or advancing a reliability or maintenance excellence program
-
Experience with CMMS platforms (SAP PM or similar), including maintenance plans, asset hierarchies, and reporting
-
Strong background in root cause analysis, problem-solving, and implementing sustainable corrective actions
-
Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive cultural change toward proactive maintenance
Nice to Have
-
Professional certifications such as CMRP, CRE, or similar
-
Experience in metals, mining, cement, bulk materials, or similar heavy industry
-
Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies and data integration
-
Experience developing lubrication and contamination control programs
-
Working knowledge of RCM and precision maintenance principles
