LaSalle Network is partnering with one of the leading auction houses in the U.S. to help them hire an experienced Senior Accountant-Settlements 

Direct Hire Opportunity
Compensation: $70,000-78,000
Location: 5x a week in their Dallas, TX Office

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to oversee the daily operations of our auction settlement process. This role is responsible for supervising settlement team members, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of auction proceeds payments, and maintaining proper accounting and reconciliation of auction settlements. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and is committed to continuous improvement in financial processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support assigned auction settlement team members and settlement accountants

  • Ensure auction proceeds payments are accurate, timely, properly authorized, and documented

  • Maintain accurate accounting entries and reconciliation for all settlement activities

  • Lead process improvements and innovations across auction settlement functions


Duties & Day-to-Day Activities

  • Lead, train, and mentor assigned settlement team members

  • Organize and prioritize workloads across the settlement team

  • Close auctions once finalized and book daily journal entries

  • Prepare and review settlement statements for consignors across multiple venues

  • Verify consignor statements for accuracy and review sales reporting prior to payment

  • Calculate, enter, and review miscellaneous adjustments

  • Deduct customer accounts receivable from auction proceeds according to standard procedures

  • Update payee names as needed based on authorized proceeds directives

  • Prepare preliminary auction settlement statements

  • Manage auction records at multiple stages of completion across various categories

  • Conduct final accounts receivable review and balance prices realized

  • Prepare check batches, verify posted fees, and note the Auction Summary Report

  • Print and distribute auction settlement checks

  • Post daily wires to the general ledger and assist with wire reconciliations

  • Assist with booking advance payments, fees, and interest calculations as required

  • Support month-end close activities with documentation and research

  • Book accounting entries for adjustments, refunds, and corrections

  • Provide research, resolutions, and process documentation as requested

  • Assist with audit activities and accounting projects

  • Participate in the design and implementation of a new ERP system


Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or another business-related field

  • 2+ years of experience in Accounting or Accounts Payable preferred


Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Proactive mindset with a positive, solution-oriented attitude

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience working with an ERP system preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including:

Microsoft Word

  • Document formatting

  • Templates

  • Mail merge

Microsoft Excel

  • Spreadsheets and formulas

  • Pivot tables

  • VLOOKUPs

  • Data reporting and analysis

Microsoft Outlook

  • Calendar management

  • Task coordination

  • Managing high-volume correspondence
