Position Summary
A leading food manufacturing organization is seeking a Logistics Manager to lead and optimize plant-level logistics operations. This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of raw material warehousing, inbound receiving, inventory control, and outbound shipping of finished goods.
The Logistics Manager will provide both strategic leadership and hands-on operational oversight to ensure materials are planned, stored, and transported efficiently. This role focuses on driving on-time performance, inventory accuracy, cost control, and continuous improvement while supporting overall plant operations.
Compensation: $100,000 to $120,000 + bonus

Key Responsibilities

Lead and execute plant-level supply chain and logistics strategies aligned with business objectives

Manage warehouse operations including raw material receiving, storage, and finished goods shipping

Track, analyze, and report on key warehouse and logistics KPIs; identify root causes and implement corrective actions

Own and manage the logistics and warehouse operating budget, ensuring cost control and accountability

Oversee inventory lifecycle activities including obsolescence reviews, run-out planning, and material disposition

Coordinate approved material destruction and inventory adjustments in partnership with Finance

Support plant commercialization activities, changeovers, and production transitions

Optimize warehouse layout, storage locations, and visual management to improve space utilization and flow

Partner with IT and Supply Chain teams to enhance ERP functionality for put-away, storage, and inventory accuracy

Improve inventory accuracy through process improvements, system controls, and cycle count programs

Drive Lean and continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse and supply chain operations

Build strong cross-functional relationships with Procurement, Planning, Transportation, Distribution, Quality, and external partners

Investigate and resolve warehouse, inventory, and material flow issues impacting operations

Provide logistics support for daily plant operations and production schedules

Lead, coach, and develop warehouse, receiving, and shipping teams to drive performance and engagement

Identify and implement cost reduction and process improvement initiatives

Coordinate dock, material handling equipment, and facility maintenance needs with internal teams and vendors

Ensure effective control of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods
-
Establish a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence

Develop and execute a vision that delivers high service levels and a best-in-class customer experience
Qualifications
Education

Bachelor’s degree required; Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, or related field preferred
Experience
-
5–10 years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, supply chain, or manufacturing environments

Prior experience leading plant or distribution center logistics teams strongly preferred

Proven experience driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and inventory

Working knowledge of logistics and supply chain work processes, including:

Inventory management and material flow

Lean manufacturing and constraint management
Strong leadership and coaching capabilities with the ability to develop high-performing teams
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., D365, SAP, Oracle) and reporting tools such as Power BI
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Ability to adapt and lead effectively in a fast-paced, changing business environment
Demonstrates integrity, accountability, and a collaborative leadership style
