The ideal candidate will bring strong leave management expertise, experience administering FMLA and related leave programs, and proficiency with ADP Workforce Manager. Experience working with ComPsych’s AbsenceResources platform is required, as the organization recently transitioned to this system.
This role offers an opportunity to support a mission-driven organization while helping ensure employees receive timely, compliant, and compassionate support during leave events.
Leave Administration Specialist Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end leave of absence process, including intake, documentation, tracking, and return-to-work coordination.
- Administer employee leave programs including FMLA, ADA accommodations, short-term disability, long-term disability, workers’ compensation, and personal leaves of absence.
- Partner with ComPsych AbsenceResources to ensure accurate processing and tracking of employee leave cases.
- Serve as the primary contact for employees and managers regarding leave eligibility, timelines, and required documentation.
- Monitor intermittent leave usage and ensure proper recordkeeping and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws, including FMLA and ADA.
- Maintain confidential and accurate records related to leave administration.
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on leave policies and procedures.
- Stay current on changes in leave laws and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate leave records and employee data within ADP Workforce Manager.
- Support system updates and improvements related to absence tracking.
- Provide clear, empathetic communication to employees navigating leave situations.
Leave Administration Specialist Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in leave administration, HR operations, or benefits administration
- Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and leave compliance requirements
- Experience using ADP Workforce Manager for timekeeping and leave tracking
- Experience working with ComPsych AbsenceResources or similar leave management platforms strongly preferred
- Excellent organizational and case management skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, or mission-driven organizations is a plus
Location: Chicago, Hybrid: 2 days on-site, 3 days remote
Compensation: $35-45/hr
