Why This Role Is Exciting
This is a high-visibility, hands-on maintenance role for technicians who thrive in fast-paced manufacturing environments and enjoy solving real problems in real time. As an Emergency Maintenance Technician – Level II, you’ll be on the front lines of keeping production running—responding to unexpected equipment failures, diagnosing complex issues, and restoring operations quickly and safely.
You’ll work across multiple production areas—processing, molding, and packaging—while collaborating closely with production leaders, engineers, and senior technicians. This role offers strong overtime potential, modern systems, clear escalation support, and a defined career path within a growing maintenance organization.
- Serve as a primary responder for unplanned equipment downtime, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, sensor, and control-related issues across the facility.
- Diagnose and repair complex process and packaging equipment, including conveyors, motors, pumps, air systems, coding equipment, and automated production lines.
- Support manufacturing operations by restoring equipment safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to production schedules.
- Perform advanced preventive maintenance tasks while production lines are running, balancing reactive and proactive work.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, line diagrams, manuals, and technical documentation to identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Interface with HMIs and monitoring systems to identify faults and verify repairs (no programming required).
- Utilize SCADA systems and a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to document work orders, downtime, and repairs accurately.
- Communicate clearly with operators, supervisors, engineers, and fellow technicians regarding equipment status, repairs, and follow-up needs.
- Contribute ideas to improve maintenance processes, equipment reliability, safety performance, and team effectiveness.
What We’re Looking For
Experience
- 3–5+ years of hands-on manufacturing maintenance experience
- Strong background in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
- Experience in food or consumer products manufacturing strongly preferred
- Exposure to automation, controls, or electronics is a plus (not a programmer role)
- Proven ability to troubleshoot motors, sensors, pneumatics, conveyors, and automated equipment
- Ability to read schematics and technical documentation
- Familiarity with CMMS platforms and basic computer tools
Team & Structure
- Part of a large, structured maintenance organization with defined skill levels
- Clear escalation path—this role is not the most senior technician on site
- Strong leadership support and cross-functional collaboration
- Multiple technicians on shift covering the full facility
Shifts & Compensation
- Multiple shifts available (days, nights, weekends)
- Shift differentials for evening and overnight schedules
- Hourly pay range: $30–$50/hour, based on experience
- Overtime available
- Full benefits offered including PTO, Health, Vision and Dental amongst others
Career Growth
This role sits within a tiered technician structure, offering clear progression opportunities for technicians who want to expand their skills, increase responsibility, and grow into senior or specialized roles over time.
