LaSalle Network is partnering with a global freight forwarder to hire a Customs Compliance Specialist! If you are a logistics professional with a keen eye for detail and problem solving, this is the role for you.
Customs Compliance Specialist Responsibilities:
- Audit and complete entry files, duty payments, and POAs.
- Lead new customer onboarding.
- Review and verify documentation including country of origin, terms of sale, terms of sale, and value to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
- Address documentation discrepancies with customers and foreign origins through effective communication.
- Audit commercial documents, apply tariff schedule codes to ensure accurate duty assessments.
- Minimum of 3 years of customs or trade compliance experience
- Recent customs entry writing experience within the last year
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
This is an open-ended contract-based opportunity. The schedule will consist of an assigned 8-hour shift between the hours of 7 am to 7 pm, Monday through Friday, fully on site in Palatine. The compensation range is between $29.00/hr to $33.00/hr, with flexibility depending on level of experience. This role offers medical, dental, and vision benefits.
