Our client, a chemical manufacturing organization, is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance and engineering operations at their manufacturing site in Mississippi. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of plant equipment while driving improvements in asset reliability, uptime, and operational performance.

The Maintenance Manager plays a key role in strengthening and developing the maintenance team while implementing reliability strategies and continuous improvement initiatives across the facility. This position offers strong visibility within the plant and the opportunity to lead maintenance programs, support capital projects, and partner cross-functionally with operations, safety, environmental, and quality teams to drive plant performance.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on maintenance leadership experience within an industrial manufacturing environment and a passion for developing teams, improving equipment reliability, and supporting plant-wide operational excellence.

Maintenance Manager Responsibilities:

  • Lead all maintenance and engineering activities to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective plant operations.
  • Develop and strengthen the maintenance team by driving accountability, leadership development, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and production uptime.
  • Oversee maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution, including plant shutdowns and turnaround activities.
  • Provide engineering leadership for smaller capital projects, plant modifications, and reliability improvements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on asset performance, process efficiency, and operational reliability.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Finance teams to achieve site performance goals.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards including OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM), Mechanical Integrity, and Management of Change (MOC).
  • Utilize reliability data, KPIs, and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities and guide maintenance strategies.
  • Support sustainability initiatives focused on reducing energy consumption, waste, and environmental impact.
  • Assist with capital planning and project scoping for site improvement and reliability projects.

Maintenance Leader Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in maintenance, engineering, or reliability functions.
  • Strong technical understanding of mechanical, electrical, and industrial equipment systems.
  • Experience managing maintenance programs, reliability initiatives, and plant improvement projects.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead and develop teams within a plant environment.

Pay Range: $85,000 – $105,000 base salary (depending on experience) plus bonus and full benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401k.
