The 2016 winners rank in the top 20 percent of national employers in terms of programs, policies, and culture for creating an effective workplace.
“At LaSalle, we strive to put our people first,” said Tom Gimbel, founder and CEO of LaSalle Network. “We know that to be truly successful, you need to be able to bring your true self to work. This recognition demonstrates that we have effectively encouraged that philosophy. We are proud to be among some of the top companies in the country to create a great place to work.”
Created in partnership with Family and Works Institute, and SHRM, this award is a research-based initiative, which highlights how effective and flexible workplaces can yield positive business results and help employees succeed at work and at home.
“Since the start, it was very important to us to create an environment that encouraged work-life integration,” said Sirmara Campbell Twohill, Chief Human Resources Officer at LaSalle Network. “We care about our people and want them to succeed and grow, both personally and professionally, which is why it’s imperative for us to create initiatives and practices to continuously encourage that.”
The 2016 selection process used a rigorous scoring methodology involving a two part evaluation. The first portion is an employer application about the flexibility programs and practices at their worksite. The second part includes an employee survey detailing their experiences with flexibility and other aspects of an effective workplace, the supportiveness of their workplace culture, and whether they perceive any negative consequences for using flexibility at their workplace. The surveys are weighed with employee satisfaction in mind, with two thirds of the scoring depending on the employee portion of the application.
