Happy Administrative Professionals Day!

Final Admin Collage

At LaSalle Network, we love our administrative staff: they're the backbone of our offices and the face of our company. Two members of our C-Suite actually began at LaSalle as Office Assistants!

We appreciate them every day, but for Administrative Professionals Day today, we thought we'd highlight the people who make this office run:

Beth (Executive Assistant, 4 years at LaSalle)

What do you love most about your job?

No days are ever the same.  There are plenty of tasks and regular things I handle, but the details are always changing. I learn new things all the time.

What is your favorite memory about LaSalle?

Our most recent trip to Lake Geneva was relaxing and fun.

What advice would you give someone who wanted to be an Executive Assistant?

Be ready with solutions. Executives are busy people who move fast.  They answer questions and make decisions in every meeting all day long.  By taking a minute to lay out solutions and options, they can make choices quickly and with confidence.

Kasey (Executive Assistant, 11 years at LaSalle)

What do you love most about your job?

I’m constantly helping people, and I love that… even beyond the 2 executives I report to. I’m a support person through and through, including in my personal life. My life and work motto is: I’m here for you!

What advice would you give someone who wanted to be an Executive Assistant?

Be organized! And once you get to know who you are working for, do your best to think for them from time to time. After all, you’re there to support them, so being a step ahead will make your life and their life easier.

Jackie (HR Assistant, 5 years at LaSalle)

What is your favorite memory about LaSalle? Experiencing LaSallemas for the first time. Seeing everyone celebrate all of our hard work made me realize even more how much I want to be here.

What advice would you give someone who wanted to be an HR Assistant? Be ready to learn, learn, and learn some more! Things are always changing and the only way to stay on top of things is to soak every minute of every day.

Sarah (Project Assistant, 2 years at LaSalle)

What do you love most about your job?

I love the people I work with, how much I've learned in just the past year alone. I also love that from my experiences, I can teach and train others. We’ve created a little family in Arlington Heights that makes every day a good day!

What advice would you give someone who wanted to be a Project Assistant?

Ask questions. Work hard. Ask for more. Enjoy what you are doing and have fun! :)

Alex (Office Assistant, 2 years at LaSalle)

What do you love most about your job?Alex Fandino

The feeling of being needed. It sounds kind of weird, but I LOVE knowing that regardless of my job title, I still add value to the company and my team. I could be the Project Manager or an Office Assistant, and I’m still a part of something that is bigger than me.

What is your favorite memory about LaSalle?

Chicago Dance Marathon! We laughed, we cried, and we danced our tails off! I got to hang out with my fellow LaSallians as we raised money for the children and families at Lurie’s Children’s Hospital. I also got to see some pretty unique dance moves from LaSallians too!

Radiah (Office Assistant, 2 years at LaSalle)

What do you love most about your job?

I love interacting with candidates and clients. I believe the first impression is the most important, so I love creating a welcoming atmosphere. Being the face of LaSalle is an important role, and I don't take it for granted!

What is your favorite memory about LaSalle?

My favorite memory of LaSalle was my 1st Rebirthday celebration. I remember walking off the elevator seeing pictures of  myself and being embarrassed with love from my coworkers. No feeling can compare to this moment. I was showered with gifts and love.

What advice would you give someone who wanted to be an Office Assistant?

Learn the role, and go above and beyond to complete the task. Be social, be incredible, and be known as the “GO TO” Admin. Be flexible, and always ask for more if you can handle it. Don’t be afraid of hard work: it will only make you stronger.

Jacleen (Office Assistant, 1 year at LaSalle)

What is your favorite memory about LaSalle?

It's a tie between cooking a meal with fellow LaSallians for families staying at Ronald McDonald house, and joining the Polar Pub Crawl for Special Olympics. LaSalle has a wonderful philanthropy program, and I am proud to join in.

What advice would you give someone who wanted to be an Office Assistant?

Always keep a positive attitude. There will be stressful days where you feel like you're being pulled in a million different directions, but the best response is to keep a clear mind and focus on the tasks at hand. Be polite: you'll get positivity back if you exude it to begin with!

Ariel (Office Assistant, <1 year at LaSalle)

What advice would you give someone who wanted to be an Office Assistant?

Know how to stay organized and how to manage your time properly. It is a fast-paced environment and you don’t want to use valuable time correcting errors.

Catherine (Office Assistant, <1 year at LaSalle)

What do you love most about your job?

The people I work with in the Arlington Heights office. They’re so inclusive and they make the office a great place to work.

Jenna Jacobson (Sales Assistant, <1 year at LaSalle)

I love the people I work with. It makes a huge difference coming into the office every day and being surrounded by positive, hard working people.
