Happy 3rd Rebirthday, Melissa!

MEL KUHN 3How old are you at LaSalle?

I am three!

What has been your professional progression at LaSalle?

I joined LaSalle Network as a contract Recruiter in 2012. A year later I converted to a permanent Unit Recruiter for our downtown Office Services team, and then I became a Project Manager. After six months, I transitioned to our Oak Brook office, and in 2015, I was promoted to a Senior Project Manager.

What is your first memory of LaSalle?

I remember going up to the 24th floor and waiting in the main lobby to start my first day. I had no idea how large the office was going to be before I walked into the back! I walked in during all the teams' morning “standups.” People were talking as a group across the office, but also looking at white boards… I later learned the importance of these meetings!

What is your favorite thing about working at LaSalle?

Hands down, it’s my team and coworkers. We challenge one another, collaborate effectively, praise each other, and celebrate success as a team, an office, and a company. We have a unique culture here! Everyone is a cheerleader for their peers.

What does LaSalle mean to you?

LaSalle is my home away from home! I grew up in St. Louis and the majority of my family lives out of state. I have gotten to know so many genuinely great people at LaSalle who I am lucky to call some of my best friends. I probably spend just as much time with them outside of work as I do at the office!

What has been your proudest moment at LaSalle?

I think my proudest moment is the relationship that I’ve built with one of my initial accounts. My first permanent placement was a manager of a client servicing department and I am lucky to have continuously worked with the manager to develop the team and the company relationship.

What do you hope to conquer in the next 365 days?

In the next 365 days, I want to help our team and company grow and exceed our goals. I also want to challenge myself to grow current accounts and attack new ones at the same time.

What does celebrating a rebirthday mean to you?

Celebrating a rebirthday means celebrating your accomplishments over the past 365 days. It’s a day to set your goals for the next year ahead, push yourself to improve, celebrate achievements, and have fun!

What is your spirit animal?

According to Buzzfeed, I am a teacup pig.

Anything else you want to share?

Thank you LaSallians for pushing and challenging me to exceed limits I never thought I could pass. You all inspire me every single day #BQE
