Happy 1st Rebirthday, Kara!

Kara 1How old are you at LaSalle?

I'm one!!!

What has been your professional progression at LaSalle?

I started recruiting for executive-level positions, but now I specialize in contract and contract-to-hire recruiting for Human Resources positions.

What is your first memory of LaSalle?

My first memory of LaSalle was actually from before my interview. I had moved from North Carolina back to the Midwest and had NO idea how to go about finding a job in Chicago. So I got creative: I Googled "best companies to work for in Chicago" and found LaSalle. After reading about our CEO, Tom Gimbel and how he runs the company, I knew I had to work here!

What is your favorite thing about working at LaSalle?

I love that our leadership team wants us to not only work as hard as we possibly can, but they also want us to establish great relationships with colleagues outside our own teams. This balance is rare within companies, and it makes our culture great.

What does LaSalle mean to you?

LaSalle is an incredible place of opportunity, not only for job seekers who come to us but also internally. Employees don't have to have previous recruiting experience because our leadership team helps coach and teach new employees how to recruit. Internal promotions happen multiple times a quarter and employees can move between teams if they choose to try something new. Leadership really works with each employee to make sure he or she is happy and in the right position.

What has been your proudest moment at LaSalle?

My proudest moment at LaSalle was my first perm placement. I was able to place a single father who was underpaid in the market into an HR Manager role with a $10K bump in his pay. I was so proud that I, through LaSalle, could directly and positively change someone's life.

What do you hope to conquer in the next 365 days?

Make more placements and change more lives!

776What does celebrating a rebirthday mean to you?

It means a lot that I've made it to my first rebirthday. LaSalle is one of the top staffing firms in the nation and it takes an incredible amount of work from leadership and each employee to get us here. Celebrating my rebirthday means I've been able to push myself professionally for a year straight and succeed.

What has been the most unexpected thing about LaSalle?
Miami! We hit our fourth quarter financial goal, so our CEO took all permanent employees to Miami for an extended weekend. I never expected to go on a trip like that, and it was a blast!

What's your spirit animal?

I'd have to say a dolphin. They're smart and kind but also not afraid to beat up sharks.
