Job Description

LaSalle Network has partnered with an automotive manufacturing company who is looking for a VP of Sales - Aftermarket near South Bend, IN. This position is 100% on-site.   

The VP of Sales – Aftermarket directs and develops sales strategy, operational plans, tactics and processes that will drive revenue growth and accomplish financial objectives. They will also establish and implement processes, tools and structures to support the sales organization’s operations. 

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), the VP of Sales will be responsible for achieving annual sales goals and objectives. This executive will have responsibility for a team consisting of sales/customer service team members. This includes business development, dealer channel, key national accounts, regional sales, technical sales, WD & Retail sales and customer service.

VP of Sales Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage a sales team focused on Aftermarket/Dealer Sales and processes
  • Manage Regional and local Sales Directors and Account Managers while growing sales
  • Work closely with Merchandising to ensure optimal pricing strategies for Dealer & AM channels
  • Work closely with Distribution Branch Managers and Customer Service to improve and provide exemplary service
  • Work closely with marketing to establish contract strategies for customers that are more difficult to get direct sales coverage
  • Work closely with e-commerce team to target specific customer base and develop strategies
  • Define a differentiated service delivery model and offering to attract and hold customer loyalty
  • Research the market and competitors and develop appropriate programs
  • Train, mentor and motivate the Dealer and After Market Sales Team
  • Collaborate with the marketing department to develop effective promotional materials
  • Build relationships with customers
  • Manage and exceed or reach the set business targets assigned within certain territories
  • Develop, execute and oversee strategies and plans to achieve the set business targets
  • Work to improve the customer base
  • Build and maintain good and lasting relationships with clients
  • Partner with directors in other fields to develop better strategies
  • Create and maintain accurate records and sales reports
  • Develop targets for departmental levels of the sales organization and uses data and technology to measure and monitor sales processes, identify issues and enhance performance
  • Creates and implements capabilities to analyze the business environment, identify and understand competitors and retain and expand the customer base
  • Use market and customer insights to collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and suggest new products
  • Build effective sales and support teams with coaching, mentoring and development programs
  • Participate in or negotiate strategic or high value sales
  • Develop major goals to support broad functional objectives

VP of Sales Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of experience in sales/manufacturing/management
  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
  • Strong knowledge of Sales Incentive plans required
  • Strong leadership and sales skills
  • Analytical skills to evaluate data and use it to make decisions
  • Understanding of market trends and adaptability to follow those trends
  • Motivational and influential
  • Problem-solving and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills and strategic planning
